Fun Ferry riding
Darron
and I were playing clash of clans, waiting for the ferry to take us to Mackinac
Island. Finally the ferry came, the long line of people rushed in. Darron and I
raced up the flight of steps, shoving and dodging random people to grab the
last few seats on the top deck. I sat in the edge seat, to look at the 3 foot
deep shallow water. I looked at the back engine and saw filth and sand spewing
up with oily stuff. And cars weren’t allowed to Mackinac Island I thought; this
was more pollution than cars. I watched
the water get deeper and deeper and the island grow smaller and smaller. The
ferry moved very fast leaving waves spewing sky high with its power full
engine. It reminded me of Hawaii and those ferries when I went scuba diving.
After
1 minute the island started coming up at first a speck like an iota but growing
bigger and bigger.
“Look
there’s Mackinaw Island,” I told Darron
“Where,”
Darron said
I
pointed to the speck “there.”
The land
mass was a mountain shaped island with a city buzzing with activity. There were
horses, bicycles but no cars. It was bizarre looking at the island with no
cars, because the road was like the road you would find on any old thoroughfare. Around the island was a bicycle trail
with houses right next to them. “look” I pointed to the pile of horse poo.
“Cool” Darron replied. As the fairy pulled over we climbed down the stairs and
walked out.
